Background & Approach
Chris came to sports medicine through personal experience. Career-ending injuries in junior hockey and collegiate baseball pushed him toward understanding the rehabilitation process from the inside, and that perspective drives how he works with clients today. He completed a B.Sc. in Kinesiology at Acadia University and then a B.Applied Health Science in Athletic Therapy at Sheridan College, building an academic foundation to match his clinical curiosity.
At the professional level, Chris interned with the Detroit Tigers (MLB), the Toronto Marlies (AHL), and the Guelph Storm (OHL). He then spent six years as both Head Athletic Therapist and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Ontario Blue Jays, a role that required him to manage athlete health, rehabilitation, and performance simultaneously. He also served as lead medical practitioner for baseball at the Pan American Games.
His certification stack reflects how seriously he takes the craft. Beyond his Athletic Therapy certification, Chris has advanced training in movement screening, golf performance, manual therapy, and strength and conditioning — with formal credentials spanning FMS, SFMA, FCS, TPI, Fascial Distortion Manipulation, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, StrongFirst, and Precision Nutrition. He is currently studying Osteopathy at the Canadian College of Osteopathy. Clients describe working with him as genuinely different from standard gym coaching: thorough assessment, clear explanation, and programs that address what actually needs to change.
