ICBC & Active Rehabilitation
Active Rehab Physical Therapy
Active Rehabilitation is a form of physical therapy designed to help you decrease your pain, increase your range of motion and restore strength through movement. The goal is to get you back to your pain-free life as soon as possible and give you the knowledge and confidence to continue on your own.
The process starts with a one-on-one session with one of our BCAK (British Columbia Association of Kinesiology) Practicing Kinesiologists (human movement specialists) to identify your joint limitations and muscle imbalances. We do not replace manual therapy such as physiotherapy or massage therapy but instead complement the treatments of manual therapists, allowing the change in soft tissues to last longer.
Active Rehab for ICBC
Were you in a car accident? We can help.
If you were in a car accident on or after April 1, 2019: you should be approved for 12 active rehabilitation sessions billed directly to the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). If your accident was prior to April 1st, 2019: don’t worry, you will just need to get approval from ICBC for treatment first.
We recommend talking with your doctor first. Ask for a referral note, specifically for Kinesiology - Active Rehabilitation, then we can book you in for an initial Active Rehab assessment. To streamline the process, make sure you have your ICBC claim number, adjuster’s contact information (name, phone number, email) and the contact information for your lawyer or occupational therapist, if retained.
Kenaz’s Approach to Physical Therapy Services
Here at Kenaz, we use a whole body approach to healing and pain management. The body is extremely integrated and every person is unique; we strive to view and understand the whole picture, not just treat symptoms. Through our network of manual therapists in the Lower Mainland we keep an open line of communication with our clients. Going the extra mile is what sets us apart.
*Please note that there is a 24-hour cancelation policy for all appointments. If you fail to cancel within this time, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. We can not charge ICBC for a no-show or late cancellation.
