Rachel graduated from the University of British Columbia in December 2019 with her Bachelors of Human Kinetics with a minor in Psychology. She decided to obtain her personal training certification to help other people prior to graduation with the goal of gaining experience in the industry and helping people reach their fitness goals. Throughout her degree, she worked with athletic therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists and Special Olympics to learn more about different types of people and how to adapt training to their needs. She focuses on functional-based training and a sustainable, healthy approach to exercise.

Growing up, Rachel played many sports at a competitive level. From soccer, softball and basketball to dance, volleyball and cross country and track field, she's done it all! She captained the female UBCO Heat Cross Country team in 2019. This background in sport provides her with ample knowledge to apply to your training, whatever level you may be at. Paired with her SportMed BC SportsAid certificate, her experience means she knows how to handle any acute injuries you may currently be facing. From those experiencing pain from a car accident to the competitive athlete recovering from an injury, Rachel knows how to help using current, research-based practice.

Outside of the clinic, you'll probably find Rachel running or hiking in British Columbia's beautiful mountains, and drinking (probably too much) coffee. If you ask her about it, you'll likely be bombarded with pictures and exciting antidotes from her adventures.

“ I have been partnered with Rachel Garrett since November 2021 and she has been absolutely amazing to work with! She is super responsive to your input and how the exercises feel for you, and she is super knowledgeable and makes you feel empowered with knowledge as well. She also played a big role in helping with my eating habits with tracking calories/eating intuitively. Additionally, she provides wonderful support along with methodically planned out workouts that I could count. I could ask her any questions I had and message her updates/what I was thinking/feeling about general wellness and she acted as a great voice of reason and guidance. 10/10. She helped me realize my goals and proved I could make it there! App is great too, good for learning to keep track of your weights, logging progress, and communicating!”
